Verifier – Evaluator
Shane is a recognised MPI Food Evaluator and MPI Food Verifier.
Shane has over 30 years of experience in food safety and quality, both in New Zealand and internationally. He has worked as a microbiologist, national food safety manager, regulatory auditor, consultant, and trainer. After roles with MAF, AgriQuality, and Woolworths NZ, he spent 23 years leading Assured Audits NZ Ltd and Assured Food Safety Ltd.
Shane has developed over 50 food safety systems registered with the Ministry for Primary Industries and is known for his practical, business-focused approach to compliance. He has delivered tailored training across the horticulture, food processing, foodservice, and retail sectors.
Internationally, Shane served as a consultant for the UN’s Food and Agriculture Organization and, more recently, with the Mekong Institute under the NZ Aid-funded Prosafe Programme. His work included training on HACCP, GMP, food labelling, and hygiene practices across Southeast Asia and Africa.
