QAS – Supporting the Community: Volunteer Work & Sponsorship

Maree Haddon and Margaret Sturm are honoured to have recently received recognition from the Morrinsville Lions for their contribution to the annual Lone Diners Luncheon. The team has proudly supported the event in various ways for over 25 years, most recently by preparing and printing the invitations and name badges for attendees.
The Lone Diners Luncheon is a much-loved community event, bringing together approximately 180 guests – people aged 65 and over who live alone – for an afternoon of food, entertainment, and companionship.
Connection to the event dates back to the 1990s, when Maree first became involved through her husband Gavin, a Lions member. In 2010, Margaret from the QAS team took over the responsibility and has continued the work with dedication ever since.
This acknowledgement from the Morrinsville Lions is a proud moment for QAS and a reflection of the team’s long-standing commitment to supporting local community initiatives.
